The Tilburg University in the Netherlands is looking for Assistant Professor (2 positions, 65% teaching - 35% research) for a period of 5 years

    Main responsibilities
The new international master program studies data journalism from four angles: data retrieval, data storytelling, data visualization and data publishing. It combines the scientific methods of data treatment with the core values of journalism: select, arrange, digest and reflect. The master track puts strong focus on online and social media based journalism. The master track Data Journalism (DJ) has a natural connection with the existing master tracks Human Aspects of Information Technology (HAIT) and Communication Design (CD).

The candidates are expected to co-develop the new master track of Data Journalism and teach courses in it. They have an important task in establishing external contacts with scholars and practitioners in the field, and to acquire external projects. They are expected to initiate and conduct fundamental and applied research in this new area, in cooperation with scholars already active within the existing research programs. Experience in the field of journalism and/or with applying computational techniques to humanities research in general is considered a bonus.
